the majority of the work by the chicago artist “geo”, also known as giovanni arce, explores political, social and personal issues and is guided by both his own and collective consciousness. his first formal interaction with art was through studying architecture and mechanical drawing. geo's artistic interests later migrated to painting, sculpture, and design. as a student he studied under great artists including ben dallas, joseph hronek and mario castillo just to name a few.
although not immediately apparent the medium of each artwork often plays a significant role in his work. when seen from a distance the work can appear somewhat minimal but the illusion of the work’s simplicity pulls the viewer in to reveal the true nature of its complexities.
as a whole, geo's choice of medium and subject matter are limitless.
